Party with Joyce & Allen

See VIDEO below.
Okay – we did it.  This weekend we had the party that we have been planning since March.  The short story is that Joyce and I and our daughters Susan and Stephanie and Susan’s friend Laura went to the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville to hear some great music.  The Bluebird was having a fund raiser that night for the YMCA and I made a donation in return for which James Slater, a Nashville songwriter whose music has been performed by Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw and others, agreed to come to Cincinnati to play piano and sing for us.  This is referred to as THE INCIDENT.
I picked James up at the airport around noon on Saturday and James, Ed (our friend from Atlanta) and I ate lunch outside on the patio of Arthur’s.  James said his friends in Nashville told him to check out Graeters and he asked me about it.  I told him he was in luck, Graeters was just around the corner from us and we walked there for some dessert.
Afterward we returned to the house and spent the afternoon making the remaining preparations for the party.
For those of you that made it to the party I don’t have to tell you that – we had the BEST time Saturday night with all of you and our guest – James Slater.  It was pretty hot outside and kind of warm inside too – the AC had a hard time trying to keep up with the heat coming from inside the house.  James Slater played the piano and sang for us all night long.  James – you’re tireless – and a FANTASTIC writer, pianist, singer and entertainer.  Thanks for making our party such a tremendous – well – the best way to say it is – you made THE INCIDENT into THE EVENT.
